Avian Park Community Garden Club Project - Worcester
The Avian Park Community Garden Club was established in 2015 after the need for sharing knowledge and skills pertaining to gardening among community members were identified. The Avian Park Community Garden Club has the main overarching purpose of providing opportunities for the Avian Park community members to come together to share knowledge and skills about gardening to enable them to establish food gardens in order to relieve the community of poverty and food scarcity.
- It is a vegetable garden project with 34 Garden Club members.
- Garden club members, their families, other community members (e.g elderly and children) and community projects (e.g. soup kitchens) benefit from this project.
- Six soup kitchens and a primary school benefit from the project. Altogether, they provide approximately 1500 meals to children per week.
